- Reliance finishes at top spot.
- Tata steel and Coal India go out of the scene.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), a major contributor in the oil and telecom sector grabs its place in the list of ‘2020 Fortune India 500’, finishing in the top spot, with Indian Oil Corporation coming in the second place.
The list is based on the revenues generated and this latest Fortune India 500 list is out of the data and figures that pertain to financial year of 2019-2020.
The list was published by Kolkata-based RP Sanjiv Goenka Group ‘Fortune India’.
State Bank of India grabs the fourth spot, while Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), one of the biggest fuel-retail corporations in the country, took spot five, followed by Tata motors at number six.
Companies in the IT sector did not reserve spots in the top 10, except for Tata Consultancy Services, that finished in number 8.
Tata steel and Coal India that ranked at number 9 and number 10 missed their spots in the top 10 this year, but ICICI and Larsen & Toubro did give good competition and made it to the list of top 10 companies.
Gold retailer brand, Rajesh Exports Limited which ranked 495 in the Fortune Global 500 list in 2019, snatched seventh spot in the list.
The largest companies continued to account for bulk of the cumulative revenues of the five hundred companies. The list showed 38 companies clocking revenues of over Rs 50,000 crore each, together accounting for nearly 60 per cent of the whole revenues this year, Fortune India said.
Sectors and revenue reports for the 2019-2020 financial year:
A total of 139 companies reported revenues of under Rs 3,000 crore each.
In the manufacturing sector a total of 303 companies contributed 62 percent of the revenue, and 76 per cent of the whole profit.
Out of the 145 companies in the services sector, a revenue of 33 percent was generated, which contributes 19 per cent of the whole profit.

‘Fortune India’ said that the foremost companies that finished in top spots still account contribute a major share to the cumulative revenues of the five hundred companies is obvious.
The list shows that companies clocking revenues of over Rs 50,000 crore each, are together accounting for nearly 60 per cent of the whole revenues for the country this year.
On the other hand, as many as 139 companies reported revenues of under Rs 3,000 crore each, together accounting for slightly below 4 per cent of the whole revenues.
